About Us

Dr. Syed Muhammad Asifur Rahman is currently employed as an assistant professor & consultant at Vision Eye Institute & Hospital, Green Road, Dhaka.He also dedicates his time as a consultant at Parkview Hospital Limited, Chittagong on Fridays.

He formerly served at Chittagong Eye Infermary & Training Complex for 3 years & Chattogram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital in the Eye Department for over 3 years.

In addition to providing medical care, in the surgical domain he now performs Cataract surgery (both Phaco-emulsification & SICS), LASIK, Pterigium, YAG Laser Capsulotomy, CXL, Cornea transplantation, Ocular trauma & accidental Injury repair. He is also highly committed to assisting impoverished & financially disadvantaged patients with ocular surgery.

In his academic journey, after completing his MBBS, he successfully earned a Diploma in Community Ophthalmology from BMU in 2021 & an ICO from Edinburgh University UK.

Subsequently, in January 2024 he obtained his MCPS & in July 2025 he will achieve the most distinguished FCPS in Ophthalmology. He was also honored with the M.A. Matin Gold Medal in 2023 for his research on Tribal orphan & destitute childrean’s ocular health in the hill tracts of Bangladesh, which is the most esteemed accolade in Bangladesh for the field of Ophthalmology.

In 2026 he also received The Travel Grant at the APACRS (Asian Pacific Association of Cataract & Refractive Surgery) conference held in Thailand for giving presentation about Corneal LASIK complication management regarding free flap.
